Procurement Manager (Full-Time/100% Remote Working)

The procurement manager is one key position in our firm.
 
Our procurement officer oversees purchasing activities, mostly in the area of services. The procurement officer’s responsibilities include maintaining positive supplier relations, evaluating supply options, approving purchases, and maintaining accurate records.
 
You should be a self-starter and be innovative, which forms a large part of our firm’s culture. This includes keeping up with our products and services, and you should be keen to constantly improve your skills.
 
Ideally, you are not a procurement expert but an agile career changer with general business experience.

What you will be doing

Primary function: The Procurement Manager’s primary function is being the leader of the Procurement team.
 
Support: The Procurement Manager will be supported by an assistant manager and an assistant executive (both to be sourced). The procurement manager, just as all other members of the procurement team, does hands-on work within procurement tasks and procurement projects. The procurement manager is responsible for the personal KPIs of his team members and for the group KPIs of the procurement team. He determines for his team who can go on leave and when.
 
Reporting: The Procurement Manager reports to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Function.
 
Other functions: The Procurement manager will also support other teams, such as IT, Finance, HR, Data Protection, and facilities, in technician roles.
 
Core Responsibilities
 
  • Leading the procurement team
  • Maintain S&P’s Procurement Processes
  • Coordinating all tasks related to vendor selection, shortlisting, and management, including administrating and documentation of these processes
  • Preparing purchase and procurement plans for the procurement team
  • Managing freelancers for specialised tasks related to the projects that the firm is working on and evaluating these prospective suppliers
  • Contract Management: Maintaining good supplier relations and negotiating contracts
  • Provide reports on budgets, costs analysis, and vendor performance and other metrics to the CFO/CEO
  • Following and enforcing the company’s procurement policies and procedures
Here is an extract of concrete tasks for you to familiarise with your role and responsibility:
 
  • Identify areas for improvement of our firm’s operational processes, as far as these rely on outside work force
  • Checking of invoices from associates and suppliers
  • Work-load balancing of suppliers and freelancers
  • Checking reciprocity with certain suppliers
  • Ensuring that proper order letters are sent out to suppliers
  • Ongoing verification of prices and delivery times
  • Establishing and monitoring of supplier KPIs
  • Event management (yes, this is a procurement task but you can rely on the marketing team)
  • Management of the firm’s software licenses (yes, this is a procurement task but you can rely on the IT team)

What we expect from you 

  • A long-standing experience in a business environment
  • Native or high working proficiency in English to communicate with clients, vendors, and team members, along with other major languages which will be good to have
  • Strong passion for personal development, learning, and adapting to improve both yourself and the company.
  • Hands-on experience in the procurement and vendor selection and management.
  • Knowledge of financial, accounting, and vendor payment processes
  • Knowledge of the following tools: Office365, ASANA, NetSuite, ELO, Evernote (or similar)
  • Your procurement experience should be in the area of procuring services
  • Good analytical and strategic thinking skills, as well as a strong attention to detail
  • Being able to work in the Singapore time zone (GMT+8)
